Platform:
To enable Boing to provide the best possible service on the most robust and stable platform we needed to migrate to server hardware with a much higher specification.
All sites are now hosted on servers which feature the following Hardware/Software:
2*Xeon 3.2Ghz Dual Core CPUs
4GB RAM
146GB SAS Drives in RAID1
CentOS
Ensim Pro X

Servers are attached to a backup cluster which conducts weekly server backups and daily backups of changed files.
These backups are conducted off server so as to not impact availability.

Spam:
Spam has become a large problem recently. Over the last few months spam has increased at a rate of 60GB/month/Server. This creates a tremendous load on resources. On our new hardware we are able to greatly improve the spam filtering available.
This can also be customised by each user in the user admin panel.

Logins:
All your logins should be the same as they were previously. If you have any issues with squirrelmail please let us know asap.

Files / Databses / Paths:
We have made every effort to ensure all files and databases are accurate and there is no data discrepancy as a result of the migration. Please check your website functions correctly and let us know if you encouter any problems.
If you have files that reference the location of other files outside the webtree please check your path.

This path may have changed as a result of the migration.
e.g. if you had a site that pointed to a file located at
/home/virtual/site1/fst/home/someuser/mainwebsite_html/filename
please adjust this as the site number may have changed, adjust as follows
/home/virtual/yourdomain.com/home/someuser/mainwebsite_html/filename

Nameservers:

THe new nameservers for all hosting are as follows:
au1.boing.com.au 203.88.119.96
au2.boing.com.au 203.88.117.202

All other nameservers will still operate but they will point to these nameservers.

System Administration:
All our system administration is still conducted by the same Linux and Ensim specialists.

Tutorials:
We have upgraded our tutorials to reflect the upgraded control panel software, Ensim Pro X.
The new version enables Zone management of domain names as an additional feature on sites and a new power tool, piki, is now available.

Anyone on one of our old hosting plans will remain on their plan until it is due for renewal, at which time they will be migrated to the closest plan to their previous one. Should you have any questions regarding your plan or when it is due for renewal please drop us an email.
